CareTech is seeking a Youth Support Worker for bank hours in Hatfield. The role involves supporting young people through the transition to adulthood, acting as a caring, reliable adult role model, and enabling growth in a safe home setting.

You will help with daily independence, access to training and housing resources, and building positive relationships. Expect flexible shifts, 8am–11pm with sleep-ins, and a welcoming team environment.

Formación

• Experience working with young people or caring for someone close.
• Willingness to pursue related qualification and ongoing training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team player.

£13.04 per hour plus £67.50 for each sleep-in We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role either now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

You will have the opportunity to support each young person through this crucial part of their lives, the next step to adulthood and independence. You’ll be the advocate to encourage the positive development of our young people by providing a consistent caring adult role model. This could include;

• Supporting them through the daily challenges of independence


• Helping to resource facilities around employment, training, housing, advice for on money matters etc


• Be emotionally available to listen to young people’s views and feelings


• Promote and build positive relationships in a nurturing environment


• Have fun and enjoy spending time with our young people


• Plan and engage shared time within the home for the team and our young people


• Create an environment that our young people feel a part of


• Creating opportunities for to grow and thrive within the home

Who Are You

We're looking for people who genuinely care and want to make that difference. Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others. Taking pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better. New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. All staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.

• Experience of working with young people, or maybe you have cared for a younger friend or family member


• Desire to work towards related qualification and partake in ongoing training


• Must be a team player, support and be supported


• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written


• Ability to cover day shifts with overnight sleep-ins at the service

What do our shifts look like?

Each shift is 8am to 11pm – Sleep ins are 11pm to 8am
