Job summary

Choice Support in Milton Keynes is seeking Bank Support Workers to assist people with learning disabilities and mental health needs in a 24-hour service. You’ll help with everyday tasks, activities, and creating a safe, supportive home environment.

We welcome personalities over specific experience and will provide comprehensive training, including Care Certificate, with DBS checks. A UK driving licence is required for this role.

Job description

Every day, we work alongside people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with mental health needs to build lives filled with choice, belonging and opportunity. We're looking for Bank Support Workers to join our amazing teams in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. No two days will be the same supporting people to achieve their very best. You will have a varied array of tasks whilst on shift; everything from cooking & cleaning, taking part in activities and games, managing challenging behaviours and even putting your feet up watching TV with the people you are supporting. We aim to create a positive, relaxed home environment where the people we support feel safe, supported & listened to. You will be supported and guided by senior staff members to establish appropriate boundaries, manage behaviours effectively and nurture the people we support towards positive futures. This is a 24-hour service 7 days a week, so flexibility is required. You will be required to do weekly sleep-ins., To keep the people we support safe, we follow safer recruitment steps. This includes DBS checks, reference checks and reviewing your work history.

• have genuine empathy for the people we support, with the positivity, patience, and resilience to support them through difficult times.
• enjoy teamwork and take pride in getting a job done well alongside your colleagues.
• have excellent face to face communication skills and a good standard of literacy.
• have good time management skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload
  £12.82 per hour
• fully paid for training including bespoke training and Care Certificate
• Paid for enhanced DBS check.
• sleep‑ins £48 per session
• Introduce a friend scheme and earn up to £500.
• A full UK driving licence is required for this role!
