Job summary

Homes2Inspire, part of Shaw Trust, is seeking Bank Children's Residential Support Workers to support children in our residential homes and help maintain safe, nurturing environments. You will rotate across services, providing consistent care and building trusting relationships.

Flexible hours with sleep-in shifts paid in addition to hourly rate, comprehensive induction and ongoing training, plus opportunities to progress into permanent roles within the Homes2Inspire network.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people in a professional setting.
• QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent Health & Social Care qualification.
• GCSEs including English and Maths required.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in residential homes.

Bank Children's Residential Support Worker

Contract: Bank / Zero Hours Contract

Location: Spondon, Derbyshire

Salary: £14.31 - £15.18 per hour + sleep-in payments

As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you'll provide additional support across our homes during periods of annual leave, sickness, training, emergency cover and increased staffing requirements. You'll play a vital role in helping us maintain safe, nurturing and stable environments for the young people in our care.

No two shifts are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of services while working alongside dedicated and experienced teams.

What will the role involve?

• Supporting children and young people within our residential homes.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model.
• Assisting with daily routines, activities, appointments and education.
• Supporting young people to develop independence and life skills.
• Providing emotional support and trauma-informed care.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning.
• Providing cover during staff absence, annual leave and emergencies.

What you'll bring

• Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals in a professional capacity.
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent Health & Social Care qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Full UK Driving Licence
