Priory Supported Living North Yorkshire provides assessment and support for adults living with a primary learning disability/autism/mental health issues, which may present complex conditions. Our service offers 24/7 specialist supported living care designed to provide the right level of support; we encourage individuals to develop skills necessary for independent living. We offer 1:1 and 2:1 staffing where required.
Within the homes, we promote social skills, independent living, and personal responsibility. Residents are proud of their homes and are involved in creating them. Support includes daily activities such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning, depending on individual ability.
Many residents enjoy social activities arranged upon request, such as college, dining out, shopping, music concerts, sports events, trips to theme parks, and more.
You must be committed to a person-centred approach that promotes independence and social inclusion. Your support should reflect the wishes and needs of the individuals, aligned with their support plans. You will help residents maintain a home and lead fulfilling lives as valued community members.
You are expected to comply with all regulations, policies, supervision, and training sessions. Attendance at team meetings, supervisions, and training is required, along with effective communication with managers and colleagues.
You should have initiative and motivation to work independently and as part of a team. Good listening and communication skills are essential. Personal care duties may be required.
Experience working with people with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health issues is not necessary but advantageous. Full training will be provided, especially for behaviours that may challenge. An understanding of the issues faced by individuals with disabilities and enthusiasm for supporting their independence are important.
Successful applicants will need to attend person-centred training. Full UK driving licence is required due to the needs of the individuals supported.
