The role is primarily concerned with supporting our residents to live their life, practising skills they learn in the home, out in the community.
Support workers also play a key role in supporting residents before, during and after meal times, which can be an understandably difficult time for those that live with eating disorders.
Althea Park House is a 7 bed specialist residential service providing medium to long-term support and treatment for young people and young adults (aged 16-25) suffering from eating disorders and other associated complex mental health difficulties.
We also have The Anchor, a 3 bedded semi-independent step-down home (18+) on the Althea Park House site.
This role allows an opportunity to build longer term, meaningful therapeutic relationships and use them to support people to affect change. We are fortunate to be able to do this in warm, homely environments, within the beautiful Stroud Valleys, in Gloucestershire.
Our therapeutic model focuses on supporting our residents to build a life outside of the confines of their eating disorder or indeed, mental illness. We work hard to support those that live in our homes, to build their own resilience, sense of self and ability to connect with the world around them.
Experience working within Eating Disorders is ideal, but not a requirement. We are keen to recruit the right person most of all.
In the day we work 7.5 hour shifts, across 7 days.
