What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autismconditions, usingyour knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Location:20 Woodland Ave, Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Newcastle ST5 8AZ

Join the team at The Woodlands, a specialist community based service, replicating a home-to-home environment for 6 men living with a learning disability and or autism. Service users may also have unstable epilepsy, profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.
You will be providing care to people who are currently living in the community, such as the family home or supported living but require more structured care and support, as well as those who are transitioning out of residential schools and require ongoing care and support.
