Job summary

CareTech UK Ltd in Folkestone is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs at Martello Centre. The role offers zero-hour contracts and requires flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

You will provide person-centred support, help with daily living skills, and promote independence. Training is provided, with opportunities for progression within CareTech.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence – mandatory.
• D1 entitlement on your driving licence – essential.
• A genuine desire to support people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
• Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
• Willingness to work towards Level 2 diploma
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Rate: £13.03 per hour

Support Worker – Folkestone

We are recruiting a Support Worker to join our service in Folkestone, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. Whether you’re new to care or experienced, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career – any truly make a difference!

About the Service – Martello Centre

Our Martello Day Centre service is based in Folkestone and is used by 60 Service users attending on a weekly basis. There is free parking for staff members.

The Day Centre has its own garden and lots of various activities. The Centre is in walking distance of the harbour and town centre, with close transport links.

The Role

• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking people who are caring, patient and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently as well as part of a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written skills, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the right attitude and passion for supporting others, we'll provide full training and a structured induction programme to help you succeed in the role.
