Job summary

The Thornbury Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, seeks a Sonographer for bank shifts in its Imaging Department in Sheffield. The role covers ultrasound diagnostics across abdominal, renal and gynecology scopes, with autonomous reporting and a focus on safe, high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Broad range of sonography competencies required.
• Autonomous practice and independent reporting essential.
• Experience in patient care and handling challenging situations.
• Diploma or postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ultrasound service in Imaging Dept.
• Perform diagnostic scans within scope of competence.
• Support workflow planning and department operations.
• Complete patient charges and maintain records.
• Participate in QA, supervision and peer review.
• Report equipment faults and ensure safe operation.
• Adhere to department policies and mandatory training.
