Job summary

Choice Care Group is seeking Bank Social Care Workers to provide compassionate support in our residential homes across the UK. Flexible, ad-hoc hours with in-house training on start date help you fit around personal commitments.

You will work alongside permanent staff to support residents’ safety, happiness and engaging activities, while developing meaningful relationships and maintaining care records. Banking roles offer variety and the chance to make a real difference.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care is welcomed but not required as in-house training is provided.
• Willingness to work flexible, ad-hoc shifts to support care homes.
• Good interpersonal skills and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing and feeding support.
• Administer medications as required and in line with care plans.
• Assist residents with daily activities, hobbies or outings.
• Follow care plan guidelines and company policies.
• Develop an open, honest, and caring relationship with residents.
• Maintain accurate daily records and documentation.
• Attend and complete training sessions as required.

Key duties

• Providing personal care - including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding
• Medication administration
• Assisting and getting involved in residents' daily activities, hobbies or outings
• Following care plan guidance alongside Company policies and procedures
• Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
• Maintaining written daily records
• Attending and completing training, as required

Where will you work?

Woodlands is a large, detached home in the village of Bartley in the New Forest, providing residential support for six residents with learning disabilities and associated complex emotional and behavioural needs. Woodlands offers a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where residents can live together as one large family. The home provides 24-hour support from a trained and experienced team, with a clear and structured approach. An individualised day care programme offers a variety of social, occupational and leisure activities. The home has its own vehicles for local travel including regular trips to nearby Southampton for shopping, leisure activities such as going to the cinema, swimming and horse-riding, and for those attending college. Owning and looking after pets is supported to encourage a sense of responsibility.
