We are excited to announce the launch of our new Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health Service and are looking for a Bank Band 6 Senior Sexual Health Practitioner to join our team.

Based at our Loughborough Health Centre, with service locations across Rutland, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, and Coalville, this bank role offers a unique opportunity to provide free, confidential sexual health services to the local community. Travel across our localities will be required.

We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 Senior Sexual Health Practitioners with recognised competencies (STIF Foundation or Intermediate), and a Faculty Diploma in Contraception (DFSRH). The role involves autonomous practice within a multidisciplinary team, providing sexual health services, and collaborating with colleagues and commissioners to develop services.

Main Responsibilities

1. Manage and triage patients for sexual health, contraception, and HIV care, escalating when necessary.
2. Provide STI/HIV screening, treatment, and partner management following clinical protocols and PGDs.
3. Insert and remove contraceptive implants and IUDs after appropriate training.
4. Promote sexual health through education and positive messaging.
5. Work autonomously managing a caseload, ensuring patient choice and effective care pathways.
6. Develop care plans and support clinical leadership within the team.
7. Maintain accurate records and adhere to governance policies.
8. Participate in audits, research, and service development.
9. Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
