Job Description:

Bank Rehabilitation Support Worker Liverpool Salary: up to £13.00 per hour Hours: Bank. Here is your opportunity to start a career in rehabilitation support work. No prior experience in care or support roles is necessary – we provide full induction, specialist training, and coaching. Working in brain injury rehabilitation involves encouraging and guiding individuals to gain skills and confidence for independent living. You will share in their journey as they overcome hurdles, reach milestones, and achieve their goals. Many stay for about three months before moving on, making a significant impact in that time.

Why join us? Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our centres and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support individuals in regaining lost skills. We work with people affected by various brain injuries to help them recover and meet personal goals. Our team is passionate, collaborative, and supportive, creating a positive work environment.

The Role This position is based at Redford Court/Lodge, a 29-bed service in Liverpool, split across two buildings. The main unit has 24 beds, including flats and self-contained units, providing rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injuries. The service addresses cognitive, behavioral, physical, and emotional challenges, with an average stay of 12 weeks. Support involves personalized care plans focusing on developing independent living skills, including personal hygiene, meal prep, exercise, leisure, and social activities. Physical needs are addressed as required, with guidance from occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The role includes organizing and participating in various activities both within the service and in the Liverpool community, such as art, music, sports, gardening, shopping, and swimming. The location is a 20-minute bus ride from Liverpool city centre and the Albert Dock. You will find great satisfaction in helping individuals live more independently and pursue their desired lives. We support your career development and provide ongoing training.

About you We are open to candidates without specific experience. Your personality and values are key. We will train and develop you into a skilled rehabilitation support worker if you:

  • Have genuine empathy for residents, with positivity, patience, and resilience during rehabilitation
  • Enjoy teamwork and pride in your work
  • Possess excellent face-to-face communication skills and a good standard of literacy
  • Have good time management skills and can prioritize tasks effectively

Rewards You will benefit from excellent perks, including:

  • A competitive hourly rate of up to £13.00
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Comprehensive training and support
  • Company pension scheme
  • Group life assurance
  • Eye voucher scheme
  • Long service and staff awards
  • Free parking
  • Nationwide discounts on eating out and shopping
  • Blue Light Card discounts for NHS, emergency services, social care, and armed forces personnel

We prioritize employee wellbeing and career growth, providing all necessary training and learning opportunities to help you achieve your goals.
