Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a detail‑driven Reconciliations Analyst to join our permanent, full‑time team in Skipton. You’ll own reconciliations across key accounts, investigate complex items, and help safeguard the integrity of our financial records through robust controls and timely investigations.

The role offers hybrid working with some office time in Skipton, a supportive Finance function, discretionary bonus, pension, and wellbeing benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver a portfolio of reconciliations, including complex and high risk accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Investigate and resolve complex, aged, and high value reconciling items, working with stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Support Sales Ledger and Accounts Receivable processes, including customer or tenant account activity, allocation queries, aged debt, and issue resolution.
  • Review and support the work of Analysts, providing guidance and promoting consistent, high quality standards.
  • Monitor ageing balances, manage reconciliation backlogs, and escalates risks, issues, or delays where appropriate.
  • Produce and analyse reconciliation MI, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve performance and controls.
  • Maintain robust audit trails and control evidence while building strong relationships across Finance, Operations, and Payments teams.

Job description

Hours: This role is for a permanent position working full time 35 hours per week Salary: £31,000 Per Annum Closing Date: Fri, 18 Sept 2026 Join us in a key role where you'll deliver high quality reconciliations, lead complex investigations, and play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You'll act as an important control point, helping to identify, resolve, and prevent issues while ensuring reconciling items are managed efficiently and effectively.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and deliver a portfolio of reconciliations, including complex and high risk accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this role, you’ll need proven experience in reconciliations, investigations, and resolving complex financial queries, alongside:
