Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, based at West Park Hospital, seeks a Bank Porter/Housekeeper to deliver cleaning and catering across office, patient and communal areas.

Shifts include early, late and night, with weekends and bank holidays, and short-notice cover may be required. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Level 2 must be completed within 12 months.
• Numeracy and literacy to ITQ Level 2 required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Portering or Housekeeping is desirable.

Bank Porter/Housekeeper post in the Hotel Services team at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, based at West Park Hospital. The work covers cleaning and catering across office, patient and communal areas in a mental health and learning disability setting. Shifts run early, late and overnight, including weekends and bank holidays, with short-notice cover expected. Right to work in the UK is required, as visa sponsorship is not offered.

Experience

• Experience in portering
• Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
• Experience in general cleaning duties
• Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health or learning disability environment

Skills & knowledge

• Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH
• Knowledge of the National Standard of Cleanliness, deep-cleaning procedures and PLACE
• Good understanding of confidentiality
• Following protocols and instructions, with thoroughness and attention to detail
• Safe, consistent use of cleaning, motorised and kitchen equipment, regeneration ovens, and food preparation, serving, washing and ironing
• Effective verbal and written communication, time management and prioritising
