Job summary

Randox Health in Winchester is seeking a Bank Phlebotomist on a zero-hours contract. The role offers flexible shifts across our clinic network, with 12-hour daytime slots and weekend options. DBS and Hepatitis B vaccination may be required, and a right-to-work in the UK is essential.

You will collect samples, enter data into PIS, and support reception and admin tasks while maintaining high standards of patient care and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blood collection appointments and data entry into PIS.

Bank Phlebotomist (Zero-Hours Contract) – Winchester - (Job Ref: 26/BPWI)

Contract Offered:

Bank / Zero-Hours

Working Hours:

There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts will be offered based on operational requirements, and successful candidates can choose whether to accept available assignments. Shifts offered will be in line with the clinic opening times and are likely to be 12- hour shifts 7am to 7pm and could include weekends.

Right to Work Requirement:

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire. Suitably experienced candidates on a student visa who can work 20 hours per week can also be considered.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria:

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable:

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
