Job summary

Randox Health is expanding its bank phlebotomy team across Greater Belfast clinics. This Bank Phlebotomist (Zero-Hours) role offers flexible shifts, with assignments that fit your availability, including potential 12-hour blocks and weekends.

You will collect blood and urine samples, enter data into PIS, maintain records, and support reception and events. A phlebotomy certificate and the right to work in the UK are required; vaccination against Hepatitis B is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blood and urine sample collection and data entry into PIS.
• Maintain accurate records and upload relevant documentation.
• Represent Randox at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at private health clinics.
• Assist with reception and other administrative duties.

Bank Phlebotomist (Zero-Hours Contract) – Belfast / Holywood - (Job Ref: 26N/BPNI)

As a Bank Phlebotomist, you will be offered shifts on an as-needed basis and will have the flexibility to accept assignments that fit your availability.

Working Hours

There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts will be offered based on operational requirements, and successful candidates can choose whether to accept available assignments. Shifts offered are could include 12- hour shifts 7am to 7pm and could include weekends.

Vaccination and Access Checks

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire. Suitably experienced candidates on a student visa who can work 20 hours per week can also be considered.

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Strong communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
