Job summary

Spire Washington Hospital is seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join their bank theatre team. The role provides excellent care and contributes to delivering services within the Theatre Unit, with opportunities to develop theatre skills in a leading private hospital.

We mainly have weekday shifts; please apply only if you can provide weekday cover. The hospital has 35 beds, four operating theatres and a wide range of services, with training and progression into permanent posts.

Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC registration is required.
• Scrub experience is essential.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are important.
• Experience working in a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients undergoing elective procedures across various specialties.
• Prepare theatre/anaesthetic room with instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure patient records are completed accurately and promptly.
• Run a theatre list without supervision.

Spire Washington Hospital are looking for an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join their bank theatre team. The role will provide excellent care and require the post holder to participate and contribute to proving services within the Theatre Unit. There are opportunities to further develop your Theatre skills through training and gaining experience within a leading private hospital.

Spire Washington is a 35 in-patient bedded hospital with 10 consultation and 2 treatment rooms based just off junction 63 of the A1 with great commuter links. Our Hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres covering specialities including Orthopaedics and Gynaecology and a full Diagnostic suite.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Working as part of this friendly and supportive team you can expect to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including ENT, neurological, orthopaedic, laparoscopic, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology.
• Prepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum
• Ensure the Patient Record is completed in a timely and accurate way
• Run a theatre list without supervision

Who we're looking for:

• HCPC Registered or NMC Registered
• Must have scrub experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are key to continue our high standards of patient care.
• Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision
