Job summary

Empowering U Healthcare is seeking dedicated Paediatric Nurses for Bank roles in Beeston, Nottingham. You will deliver one-to-one nursing care for a 5-year-old girl with complex health needs across home, community, and school settings, ensuring continuity and safety throughout her day.

Qualifications

  • Registered Paediatric Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for children with complex airway needs.
  • PICU experience (essential).
  • Experience in community-based and school-based care (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, child-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality paediatric nursing care with professionalism and empathy.
  • Support the child safely within a school environment, enabling access to education while meeting clinical needs.
  • Liaise with school staff to ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed.
  • Manage complex conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and Dystonia.
  • Provide airway management, including deep suction, repositioning, and oxygen therapy.
  • Administer gastrostomy feeds and medications safely.
  • Support physiotherapy programmes and mobility needs.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Monitor clinical progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing environment that supports emotional well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Provide occasional holiday cover with the family when required.

Available Role: Beeston, Nottingham

Client: You will be providing one-to-one care for a 5-year-old girl with complex health needs, delivering specialist nursing support across home, community, and school settings, ensuring continuity of care throughout her day.
Hours: Day hours are 08:00am- 17:00pm, please note this is a bank role
Pay: £35.00 per hour

About the role
Clinical Role-Specific Responsibilities

Essential Requirements:

Registered Paediatric Nurse with a valid NMC PIN

Minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for children with complex airway needs

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
