Job summary

Empowering U is seeking a Bank Paediatric Nurse to provide one-to-one care for a 5-year-old girl with complex health needs at Beeston, Nottingham. You will deliver specialist nursing support across home, community, and school settings, ensuring continuity of care throughout her day.

Responsibilities include airway management, feeding and medication administration, mobility support, and collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registered Paediatric Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience caring for children with complex airway needs.
• Experience in PICU is essential.
• Experience in community-based and school-based care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality paediatric nursing care with professionalism and empathy.
• Support the child safely within a school environment, enabling access to education while meeting clinical needs.
• Liaise with school staff to ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed.
• Manage complex conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and Dystonia.
• Provide airway management, including deep suction, repositioning, and oxygen therapy.
• Administer gastrostomy feeds and medications safely.
• Support physiotherapy programmes and mobility needs.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Monitor clinical progress and respond to changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Work with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Promote a safe, nurturing environment for emotional well-being.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Provide occasional holiday cover with the family when required.

Client: You will be providing one-to-one care for a 5-year-old girl with complex health needs, delivering specialist nursing support across home, community, and school settings, ensuring continuity of care throughout her day.
Hours: Day hours are 08:00am- 17:00pm, please note this is a bank role
Pay: £35.00 per hour

About the role

Clinical Role-Specific Responsibilities

Essential Requirements:
