Main duties of the job

The key responsibilities of the Theatre Practitioner will be to focus on patient-centric care, participating in the entire pathway for all patients from pre-admission, surgery, and post-operative management. You will be an experienced Theatre Practitioner undertaking preoperative assessment, diagnostics testing, and theatre scrub under AfPP good practice guidance.

Job responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons in delivering ophthalmic care.
  • Manage the admission and discharge of patients.
  • Participate in departmental audits.

  • Work effectively within a team environment.
Person Specification
Experience
  • Previous ophthalmic theatre experience is required.
  • Relevant professional development, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration or ODP with HCPC Registration.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in your area of practice.
  • Proficient in using a PC, including relevant software and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering first-rate patient safety and care.
