Job summary

YMCA Black Country Group is seeking a Bank/Relief Worker to cover three Walsall nurseries. You will support early years provision for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, promoting safeguarding and helping families access positive support.

The role requires Level 2 or 3 EYFS qualifications and experience implementing the EYFS. DBS check and references are expected, with CPD and progression opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 qualified and experienced in planning and implementing the EYFS curriculum.
• Passionate about working with children and families, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Safeguarding welfare of children.
• Offering support and guidance to parents/carers to boost confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Job description

We are looking for a Bank / Relief Worker to provide cover across our 3 Walsall YMCA BCG Nurseries*, all of which offer childcare places for children 6 weeks – 5 years, providing a welcoming environment where families can feel valued and obtain positive help and support.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to promoting good practice and maintaining a high‑quality provision
• Responsibility towards the promotion and practice of safeguarding the welfare of children
• Offering support and guidance to parents/carers enabling them to extend their own skills, and by boosting their confidence and self‑esteem, ensure the emotional wellbeing of their child.

You will be Level 2 or 3 qualified and experienced in planning and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You will also be passionate about working with children and their families, striving to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment for children to grow and develop.
