Job summary

St Wilfrids Hospice (South Coast) Limited is seeking a Bank Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our In-Patient Unit, working night shifts from 8:15pm to 7:45am. You will deliver compassionate, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care alongside our Registered Nurses, supporting families and ensuring dignity and comfort for patients.

The role involves enhanced clinical duties, emotional resilience, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary group.

Qualifications

Experience as Healthcare Assistant, preferably in palliative care.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Caring, compassionate and emotionally resilient.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, person-centred palliative and end of life care.
Support patients and their loved ones emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.
Work with Registered Nurses to plan and deliver personalised care.
Monitor patients' wellbeing and respond appropriately to changing needs.
Undertake enhanced clinical duties as part of the Senior Healthcare Assistant role.
Support families through difficult and emotional times, including bereavement.
Promote dignity, independence and choice for every patient.
Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team to provide outstanding care.
