Mearns View Care Home in Newton Mearns, Scotland is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation in a well organised kitchen. You will help ensure meals are prepared to high standards and assist with deliveries, storage and stock control.

Join a supportive team with a consistent day shift and the opportunity to develop kitchen experience within a caring environment. PVG checks are paid and a uniform is provided.

Qualifications

• Positive, reliable candidate with good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Our purpose built, luxury 67-bed care facility is located in the charming town of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. We are proud to provide a range of services which includes Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite & Palliative Care.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to Bank hours per week
• Paid PVG, uniform provided

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
