Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet is seeking enthusiastic Bank Housekeeping & Catering Assistants to join our flexible bank roster. The role blends housekeeping and catering duties to support patients, visitors and colleagues in a hospital setting.

You will gain experience across catering and housekeeping, with full training provided. The bank contract offers zero-hour shifts, requiring flexibility, weekend and bank holiday availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals to patients and staff.
• Record patient meal choices and escalate concerns as needed.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety in catering areas.
• Clean patient areas, offices, corridors and public spaces to required standards.
• Clean and restock washrooms and support waste disposal.
• Use cleaning equipment safely following training and procedures.
• Support infection prevention and control standards throughout the hospital.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent service.

There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible option but it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours., As our Bank Housekeeping & Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the hospital by:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to patients, visitors and staff.
• Recording patient meal choices and escalating any concerns where appropriate.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety within catering areas.
• Cleaning patient areas, offices, corridors and public spaces to the required standards.
• Cleaning and restocking washroom facilities and supporting waste disposal processes.
• Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively following training and procedures.
• Supporting infection prevention and control standards throughout the hospital.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent service experience.
  A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays when required.
• An understanding of the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection control.
