Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Richmond. You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and maintain the treatment room, contributing to high-quality care delivery.

The role involves observations, phlebotomy if trained, ECGs, and patient assessments within an organised primary care environment. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions are available, with morning and afternoon slots to suit long‑term bookings.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
