Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a GP practice in Leigh. You will support clinical staff with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

This role suits a proactive HCA with experience in primary care, DBS enhanced, and a patient-focused approach to maintain high-quality care delivery. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions are available, with morning or afternoon slots.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
