Job Description:
About the Role

Are you a Nurse looking for a change? Are you a Paramedic looking for the next step? Do you want to work in forensic healthcare that makes a remarkable, positive and life-long difference to people’s lives?

If the answer to the above is yes, then this is the right role for you!

Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for passionate, determined, and resilient individuals to join our teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals based in Cumbria.

This role is an alternative career option for RGN's and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post qualification experience.

Custody environments are dynamic and lively, with no two days the same. Detainees can be held for up to 24 hours, during which we provide high-level care tailored to their needs, including issues like drug/alcohol dependency and acute medical episodes.

Our healthcare professionals are trained to collect forensic samples to assist police investigations.

Experience in forensics is NOT NECESSARY. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with police and receive training to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

Hours of Work

If you're seeking better work-life balance, this role offers a 4-on-4-off rota pattern, allowing you to plan personal activities months in advance. The shifts include two day shifts, two night shifts, then 4 days off.

This is a Bank Vacancy Only.

Duties Include
  • Forensic sampling (including blood tests for road traffic offences).
  • Signposting and referrals; supporting vulnerabilities and re-offending reduction.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies.
  • Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody.
  • Promoting personal healthcare.
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify mental health needs.
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.

Preferred experience includes A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, Paramedic Practitioner, or related fields.
