Job summary

NHS Highland Transport Department in Inverness is seeking Bank Drivers to provide cover as needed across the NHS Highland region. You will deliver laundry, mail, medical equipment, specimens, and supplies to hospitals, GP practices, health centres, and care homes. A valid Category B licence is required, with DCPC desirable.

Applicants should be organised, communicative, and able to work flexibly to meet service demands during staff absences and peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience as driver with knowledge of transport regulations, Health and Safety, COSHH, road risk and moving and handling.
• Category B driving licence required; DCPC desirable.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

NHS Highland Transport Department has two Bank Driver vacancies based at Stadium Road, Inverness. Bank Drivers provide cover as required during staff absence and periods of increased service demand. Applicants should be experienced drivers with knowledge of transport regulations, Health and Safety, COSHH, road risk, and moving and handling requirements. Candidates should be organised, motivated, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and service users. A friendly, helpful approach and good knowledge of Inverness and the wider Highland area are essential. A valid Category B driving licence is required, with Category C1 preferred. An up-to-date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and valid digital tachograph card are also desirable. Duties include delivering laundry, mail, medical equipment, specimens, and supplies to hospitals, GP practices, health centres, and care homes across the NHS Highland region.
