Job summary

Community Dental Services CIC (CDS-CIC) is seeking a GDC-registered dental therapist to support the 2026/27 National Dental Epidemiology Programme in Derbyshire. This flexible bank opportunity covers school term times, with training and calibration provided and travel within Derbyshire expected.

You will join a team delivering population-based oral health data, assisting NHS commissioners and public health teams with planning future services.

Qualifications

• GDC registration as a dental therapist.
• Flexibility to work on a bank basis.
• Willingness to travel within Derbyshire.

Responsibilities

• Attend school settings during term times to examine consenting children.
• Travel within the survey area to different sites.
• Undergo calibration training and work with a trained data recorder.
• Contribute to the National Dental Epidemiology Programme data collection.

Are you a dental therapist looking to do something different with your skills on an occasional basis during school term times?

Community Dental Services CIC (CDS-CIC) is looking for enthusiastic GDC-registered Dentists to support the 2026/27 National Dental Epidemiology Programme throughout Derbyshire. This annual process collects meaningful robust data to drive forwards population based oral health improvements processes, supports the evidence for population based Fluoridation programmes, and informs the Public Health Outcomes Framework.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will received theoretical and practical training to become calibrated examiners for this years programme and then attend school settings throughout the school year, with a trained data recorder, examining consenting children

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a nationally important survey, collecting oral health data that helps local authorities, NHS commissioners and public health teams understand children's dental health needs and plan future services. The 26/27 survey will be undertaken for children aged 3 years.
