Job description

We are currently looking for a Bank Cook to join our friendly team, whose values reflect ours.

You'll be part of our positive and supportive team delivering great food to our residents at Saxonwood Care Home, Battle.

Your role will include:

1. Being part of a team providing great food that residents look forward to.
2. Being aware of and complying with all regulations concerning hygiene, allergens, health and safety of staff, food, and equipment, and kitchen practices.
3. Supervising kitchen General Assistants, ensuring their duties are carried out.
4. Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and securing kitchen stock.
5. Ensuring a high standard of service to residents and adjusting routines to meet their needs where possible.
6. Preparing and cooking food.
7. Presenting and serving meals to residents and visitors.
8. Completing HACCP documentation.
9. Taking and storing deliveries.

Candidate Requirements:

City and Guilds 706/1/2 in Catering or an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a related field.

Knowledge and experience of preparing, cooking, and serving all consumables as required, while complying with policies on quality, quantity, and food hygiene.

Good communication skills and the ability to respond positively to feedback on food quality from residents and visitors.

Food safety training.
