Brainkind in Eastbourne is recruiting a Bank Chef to ensure high-quality meal services for residents. The role involves cooking home-made meals, including adaptable diets, while upholding strict hygiene standards and regulatory compliance.

You will report issues, support service improvements, and assist with the smooth operation of the kitchen. This bank position offers flexible hours at a competitive hourly rate, with DBS checks and references required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering for residents.
• Ability to prepare home cooked meals, including blended diets.
• Adhere to statutory hygiene standards and good practices.
• Excellent communication with residents to meet dietary needs.
• DBS/PVG checks required and 3 years of checkable references.

Responsibilities

• To ensure a high level of service for all meal times.
• To report any defects to equipment to the Service Manager.
• To supervise catering functions, prepare home cooked meals for residents, including blended diets.
• To adhere to statutory hygiene and health regulations.
• To observe cleanliness standards meeting registration requirements.
• To communicate with residents to ensure dietary needs are met.
• To support and promote Manager initiatives.
• To carry out duties to aid smooth service operation.
• To audit compliance of kitchen standards and hygiene.

The Role:

• To ensure a high level of service for all meal times.
• To ensure report any defects to equipment to the Service Manager.
• To supervise the catering functions within the Service, to prepare home cooked meals for our residents, to include catering for blended diets, in accordance with instructions from the staff.
• To adhere to all statutory requirements and good practices as laid by all authorities involved.
• To observe and operate a standard of cleanliness and hygiene that meets legislation related to the registration of the Service.
• To communicate with residents to ensure their dietary needs are met.
• To actively support and promote decisions and initiatives by the Manager.
• To carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff that will aid and assist the smooth running of the Service.
• To audit compliance of standards within the kitchen, maintaining the standard of health and hygiene as the Chef.
• All successful candidates are subject to compliance checks including 3 years of checkable references and DBS/PVG checks
