Job summary

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Technician to join the North Lincolnshire Community Equipment and Wheelchair Service in Scunthorpe & The Assisted Living Centre, Grimsby. You will work within an existing team to support the service across multiple sites.

The role involves repairing, maintaining and testing equipment, performing safety inspections, and ensuring records are accurate.

Job description

The North Lincolnshire Community Equipment and Wheelchair Service in Scunthorpe & The Assisted Living Centre, Grimsby has Technician bank work available, where you will join an existing team of Technicians to support the service.,

• 1. Undertake the repair, maintenance, testing, commissioning & preparation of community equipment & wheelchairs, ensuring all equipment is safe, functional & fit for purpose.
• 2. Carry out routine preventative maintenance, safety inspections & essential repairs in accordance with planned maintenance schedules, manufacturers' specifications, Trust & Local Authority procedures & relevant legislation.
• 3. Undertake fault finding, testing & calibration of a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic equipment, including bath lifts, profiling beds & chairs, pressure-relieving mattresses, hoists, wheelchairs, chargers & transformers.
• 4. Following appropriate training & within agreed competencies, undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), Hoist Safe Working Load (SWL) testing & service record checks.
• 5. Identify equipment that is unsafe or unsuitable for use, remove it from service & report or dispose of it appropriately in accordance with agreed procedures.
• 6. Request & obtain appropriate spare parts & ensure repairs & maintenance tasks are completed within required timescales.
• 7. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, safety checks, equipment status & stock information using the appropriate systems, including BEST.
• 8. Participate in stocktaking, equipment audits & other quality assurance activities as required.
• 9. An aptitude for organisational systems including document control systems & Microsoft windows

Applicants must have a driving license and previous experience as detailed in the job description.

The hours available will be flexible depending on your circumstances between Monday -Friday 08:00-18:00, with a potential for weekend working 10:00-16:00.

The post holder will act as a point of contact for enquires for services users and external stakeholders and will need to ensure compliance with strict rules of Data Protection and Caldicott Guideline
