Job description

Involved in the preparation and service of meals to patients, Staff & Visitors.

Required to undertake a wide range of cleaning and monitoring duties associated with maintaining food hygiene within the main kitchens, ward kitchens, dining room and coffee shops.

Ensuring that at all times a high-quality service provision is offered, maintaining trust values.

Successful candidates can choose from shifts at Aintree, Broadgreen and Royal Liverpool Hospitals.

1. Planning and organisational tasks/duties
2. Work as directed by catering supervisors in accordance with local procedures
3. Work within strict timeframes
4. Participate as a team member
5. Be prepared to move to a different task as directed by the supervisor
6. Performance of duties in accordance with approved methods, frequencies and standards, adhering to strict food safety standards
7. Some preparation of cold foods will be required
8. Minor cooking skills to produce call order items, e.g. Breakfast items, bacon, sausage, burgers as directed
9. Assist chefs with basic food preparation and cooking
10. Use of equipment machinery and cleaning materials as directed
11. Significant cleaning duties are associated with this post including cleaning of pans, cutlery, crockery, machinery, cooking equipment and floors, walls and work surfaces
