Job summary

iRock School of Music is seeking a Band Coach to deliver energetic, multi-instrument band sessions in primary schools around Plymouth and surrounding areas. You will teach at least two instruments with enthusiasm, build strong relationships with students and staff, and help prepare young learners for live performances.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with travel between schools. Benefits include mileage allowance, 11 weeks of paid holidays, annual bonuses, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Competent on at least two instruments (drums, keyboard, guitar or vocals)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage children and adults
• Organised and able to manage a varied weekly timetable
• Own UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Reliable and dedicated to giving each child a great experience

Responsibilities

• Lead high-energy band sessions for groups of primary-aged children across up to 10 schools per week
• Teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals with confidence in at least two of them
• Build warm, positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff
• Help children prepare for their live performances
• Carry out light daily admin (about 30 minutes per day)
• Support learners working towards entry-level RSL music awards
• Set up and pack away equipment as part of the daily routine
