Job summary

iRock School of Music is seeking a Band Coach to lead high-energy sessions for primary-aged children across multiple schools in the UK. You will teach drums, guitar, keys and vocals with confidence in at least two and build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.

The role offers a 40-hour week, full-time permanent contract, and benefits including 11 weeks of paid holidays, mileage at 45p per mile, and ongoing training. Start date 11 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be competent on at least two instruments (drums, guitar, keys or vocals).
• Comfortable moving equipment and setting up for sessions.
• Full UK driving licence and your own vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-energy band sessions for groups of primary-aged children across up to 10 schools weekly.
• Teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals with confidence in at least two.
• Build warm relationships with pupils, parents and school staff.
• Help children prepare for live performances.
• Carry out light admin roughly 30 minutes per day.
• Support learners working towards entry-level music awards.
• Set up and pack away equipment as part of the daily routine.
