Applicants must hold professional healthcare registration with a recognised UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or GPhC).
This is an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical practice skills within a specialist cardiac surgery service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will join a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners working within Cardiac Surgery.
The role will involve undertaking ward-based clinical duties to support the patient pathway, providing both pre-operative and post-operative management of cardiac surgical patients in collaboration with the surgical team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, clinical assessment, diagnosis, management and escalation of deteriorating patients, referral to and liaison with the multidisciplinary team and other specialties, and communication with primary care services. The team also provides care for heart and lung transplant patients in collaboration with the transplant team.
The post holder will be required to comply with all Trust ACP governance standards, policies and procedures. Qualified ACPs will undertake a role comprising of 90% clinical practice and 10% non-clinical activity, supporting the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice.
