A prominent mental health service provider in the UK is seeking a Reducing Restrictive Practice Nurse to work within the inpatient team. This role focuses on implementing interventions for service users and supervising the reducing restrictive practice team to enhance service user experiences. Candidates should possess a nursing degree and relevant mental health experience. Applications are invited for the post of Reducing Restrictive Practice Nurse – West London Forensic services. West London Forensic service in‑patient wards provide a place of safe and therapeutic environment for mental health service users that have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The core aim of the service is to provide a safe environment where service users will receive mental health care, that uses the principles of Trauma informed Care and applying the least restrictive principles possible in a safe and therapeutic environment. The purpose of the post is to improve all aspects of restrictive practices used, while maintaining service user safety including governance of relevant processes and measures.
This job is intended as an outline indicator of general areas of activity and will be amended in the light of the changing needs of the organisation. It will be reviewed in conjunction with the post holder on a regular basis. The post holder may be required to work at other locations within the Trust as determined by the duties of the post. The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are appropriate with the role, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover.
The post holder will work with the Restrictive Practice Lead in order to maintain and report on key performance/governance data on key areas of restrictive practice.
