Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting a technically minded Project Manager/Business Analyst (Band 7) for a Belfast hybrid role on a temporary basis. Salary ranges from £46,148 to £52,809 per year.

The position involves analysing processes, gathering requirements, translating technical details for stakeholders and supporting the delivery of technology projects, including testing and UAT. Strong communication and documentation are essential.

The Role

• Analyse business processes, workflows, systems and technical requirements.
• Understand technical specifications and translate them into clear, business-focused language.
• Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
• Support the development of business cases and investment proposals for technology projects.
• Explain complex technical solutions, benefits, costs and implications to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work with technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders to shape effective solutions.
• Support system implementation, configuration, testing and UAT.
• Produce clear documentation, reports and presentations.
• Support change and business readiness across projects.

The Person

We're looking for someone with a strong combination of technical understanding and Business Analysis experience.

• Experience working as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar within an IT environment.
• Strong requirements gathering and process analysis experience.
• A good understanding of systems, technology,y and technical specifications.
• Experience with testing / UAT and implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The ability to take complex technical information and explain it clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and documentation skills.
• Good Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Essential Criteria

• Degree/HND with 3 years' relevant experience* in an IT environment
• 5 years' relevant experience* in an IT environment.

• Relevant experience is defined as an ICT role or equivalent role, e.g. Service Delivery Manager in an organisation with 50+ users. Years of experience are based on full-time work.
