Job Title: Mammographer (Band 7)
Location: Kings College Hospital
Hourly Rate: £33 ph
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced and dedicated Mammographer looking for a new challenge? Join our dynamic team at Kings College NHS foundation Trust where your skills will make a real difference.

About the Role:

As a Band 7 Mammographer, you will be an integral part of our Radiology Department, leading on the delivery of high-quality mammography services. Your role will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of a compassionate, patient-centred service. You will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, supporting breast cancer detection, and participating in quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Excellence: Perform high-quality mammographic imaging in both screening and symptomatic settings, adhering to best practice guidelines.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and students, ensuring continuous professional development and a supportive learning environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in regular quality control and assurance checks, contributing to service audits and ensuring compliance with national screening standards.
  • Patient Care: Deliver compassionate and respectful care to all patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a positive experience during their mammography appointments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Radiologists, Breast Care Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless service for patients.
  • Service Development: Actively contribute to the development and implementation of new protocols and procedures to enhance service delivery.

About You:

  • Qualifications:
  • HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
  • Experience:
  • Extensive experience in mammography, including screening and symptomatic imaging.
  • Proven ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in advanced mammographic techniques such as tomosynthesis or breast biopsy procedures.
  • Involvement in service improvement initiatives or research.

Please also bear in mind our £250 referral fee bonus for any nurse you refer who we place in to work on a 3 month contract.

We also offer a £400 sign up bonus for any new nurses that register with our agency. This will be paid in your first pay packet.
