Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to work within our growing Multi-disciplinary Hand Therapy department at BHRUT. You will provide clinical expertise for a caseload of hand therapy patients from multiple referral routes.

There will be close collaboration with orthopaedics consultants, hand surgeon plastic surgeons, rheumatology consultants, and colleagues within MDT clinics and service development projects. You will operate within the Hand Therapy departments at Queen Hospital and King George Hospital. The role involves leading service development and review to ensure high-quality, evidence-based, holistic management of hand therapy patients. Engagement in secondary care clinics and the Virtual Fracture Clinic, working with the wider MDT, is also expected. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop lead service reviews and ensure continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to patients within Hand Therapy.
  2. Facilitate and maximize patient potential within service boundaries.
  3. Offer highly specialist guidance and advice to MDT members and GPs.
  4. Lead the therapy team in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the service provided to hand therapy out-patients.
