You will provide clinical expertise for a caseload of hand therapy patients from various referral sources.

There will be close collaboration with orthopaedics consultants, hand surgeons, plastic surgeons, rheumatologists, and colleagues within MDT clinics and service development projects. The role involves operating within the Hand Therapy departments at Queen Hospital and King George Hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to hand therapy patients.
  • Facilitating and maximizing patient potential within service boundaries.
  • Offering highly specialist guidance to MDT members and GPs.
  • Providing leadership for the therapy team, in conjunction with the Clinical Lead, in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the service for hand therapy outpatients.

Our organization is continually improving. We were the most improved Trust in England for A&E performance in 2023/24, are no longer in special measures, and our CEO, Matthew Trainer, was named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.

Our diverse staff of 8,000 from 146 countries, with many on apprenticeship programs, work across two main sites—King George Hospital and Queen’s Hospital. We serve over 300,000 A&E visitors annually and are expanding with new theatres and diagnostic centers. An upcoming electronic patient record system will enhance patient care and staff efficiency.
