Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Duty Senior Nurse to provide senior clinical and operational leadership across inpatient services. The postholder will oversee safe running of services, staffing deployment, bed management and escalation of concerns, while maintaining high standards of care and governance.

Qualifications

• RMN with current NMC registration and eligible to practise in the NHS.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration in an acute clinical setting, including 2 years at a senior level.
• Post-registration specialist study evidenced by a recognized qualification.
• Teaching, mentoring or assessing qualification is desirable.
• Leadership qualification or credentials are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible senior nursing leadership and operational oversight across inpatient services.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Coordinate patient flow, bed management and escalation processes.
• Oversee safe staffing deployment and respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Promote patient safety, governance and staff development.
