An excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with a passion for improving the lives of those experiencing mental health conditions has arisen at AWP. This role requires a dynamic, enthusiastic pharmacist with good communication skills, to integrate into both the pharmacy team and clinical teams, based in Bristol. Previous mental health experience is beneficial, but AWP offers training and induction for pharmacists from other sectors. This position is suitable for pharmacists transitioning from acute Trusts, ICBs, or PCNs, eager to develop mental health clinical skills.
The role involves working with healthcare professionals including nurses, doctors, and AHPs within inpatient and community teams, focusing on collaborative working. The post holder will support the Locality Lead Pharmacist to enhance the clinical pharmacy service and patient outcomes, working closely with clinical pharmacists, lead pharmacy technicians, and senior leadership to develop and deliver Medicines Optimisation.
Based at Callington Road Hospital, Bristol, travel to other sites within AWP is expected, along with remote clinical support to other services, as discussed at appointment.
The pharmacy service supplies medication and provides clinical support across the catchment area, with dispensaries in Calne and Callington Road Hospital. The team is friendly and dynamic, with support from experienced mental health pharmacists and technicians. The service operates weekends, bank holidays, and out-of-hours on-call duties.
