Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Neuro Rehabilitation Team in Dorking, Surrey, for a three-month locum role. You will work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays, 08:00–16:00, with a 30-minute unpaid break, focusing on stroke and neuro rehabilitation in the community.

The role offers an hourly rate up to £30 and a supportive multidisciplinary environment with opportunities for professional development and variety across settings.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration a must.
• Stroke/Neuro rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Experience managing dysphagia caseloads and communication disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to adults referred to the community neuro rehabilitation service.
• Undertake multidisciplinary assessments of communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Provide differential diagnosis of communication and swallowing impairments.
• Identify patient strengths, needs, and SMART goals.
• Develop and deliver appropriate therapy programmes.
• Assess motivation, insight, and self-management potential.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
• Support patient-centred rehabilitation planning.
• Deliver specialist dysphagia and communication interventions.

• Experience undertaking multidisciplinary assessments.
• Strong clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to manage an autonomous caseload.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Community Neuro Rehabilitation experience.
• Experience contributing to service development.
• Experience supporting complex neurological caseloads.
