Job summary

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Memory Assessment Service (MAS). You will deliver specialist OT assessments, focusing on functional ability in memory/dementia care, and participate in MDT discussions.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered OT with current NHS practice
• Experience in cognitive assessment and dementia care is essential
• Excellent communication and engagement skills required

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist OT assessments focusing on functional ability with cognitive, physical and mental health aspects
• Analyse performance skills to inform memory assessments and diagnostic process
• Conduct specialist OT assessments to support diagnosis
• Complete holistic memory assessments and gather clinical information
• Participate in duty rota and support MDT discussions
• Carry out assessments in service users' homes and clinics
• Support care planning and onward referrals
• Assist service users and families throughout the memory assessment pathway
