Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust in London is hiring a Fixed-Term Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer for a 12-month maternity cover on a full-time 37.5-hour contract. The role requires operating within a competency framework and participating in a 24/7 shift system including days, nights and weekends.

The post holder will assess referrals for X-ray examinations, justify imaging under Imaging Protocols, supervise colleagues, and maintain high standards for safety and image quality in accordance with IR

Qualifications

• UK registered radiographer with HCPC registration.
• BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent.
• Experience with general X-ray and imaging modalities.
• Ability to work within a 24/7 shift system and on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and justify general X-ray examinations to reduce radiation exposure.
• Supervise radiography staff and support induction.
• Manage general X-ray area, ensuring workload, breaks, and seamless service.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Radiation Protection procedures, and IRR 2017.
