Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking band 6 Radiographers to join our expanding cross sectional imaging team. You'll rotate between Musgrove Park Hospital and the Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre, delivering CT and MRI imaging with state of the art scanners and streamlined pathways.

You'll work flexibly, participate in extended hours and on-call, support junior colleagues, and help shape a service focused on patient-centred care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high quality CT and/or MRI imaging.
• Ability to plan and adapt a wide range of cross sectional examinations.
• Comfort with cannulation and safe contrast administration per protocols.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality CT and/or MRI imaging across Musgrove Park Hospital and Bridgwater CDC.
• Prioritise daily workflow and support efficient scanner time.
• Mentor junior radiographers, students and support staff.
• Contribute to service development via audits and quality improvement.
• Communicate clearly with patients and colleagues to ensure excellent experience.

If you're motivated, adaptable and excited by modern cross sectional imaging, we'd love to welcome you to our team.Main duties of the job Deliver high quality CT and/or MRI imaging, ensuring safe, efficient and patient centred examinations across both Musgrove Park Hospital and the brand new Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre. Rotate through our state of the art CDC, working with the latest scanners and streamlined pathways to support faster diagnosis and improved patient access. Use advanced clinical skills to plan, perform and adapt a wide range of cross sectional imaging examinations, making real time decisions to optimise image quality. Cannulate patients and administer contrast safely in line with PGDs and Trust protocols. Prioritise and coordinate daily workflow, ensuring smooth patient throughput and effective use of scanner time. Work autonomously within a supportive team, contributing to extended hours and oncall services as required. Support and mentor junior radiographers, students and support staff, helping to build skills and confidence within the team. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues, ensuring excellent patient experience throughout the imaging pathway. Contribute to service development through audit, quality improvement projects and the implementation of best practice.
