Job Introduction

We’re looking for enthusiastic and passionate Band 5 Nurses to join our friendly and welcoming Ward team based on Harty Ward at Sheppey Community Hospital, North Kent, to help us continue to improve healthcare services.

If you are newly qualified, consider our forward-thinking Preceptorship scheme, awarded a Quality Mark, which includes face-to-face, e-Learning, and workshop-based learning to support your career development.

As a Ward Nurse, you will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams, using your communication and organizational skills, along with a flexible approach, to deliver positive patient experiences throughout their healthcare journey.

You will care for patients and their families, uphold high service standards, share best practices, and actively seek to improve our work processes to foster positive change. We believe everyone should feel valued when they interact with us, whether as staff, patients, or community members.

We have full-time (37.5 hours) and part-time (30 hours) positions available.

Main Responsibilities

1. Maintain high standards of patient-focused care.
2. Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
3. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, keeping accurate records.
4. Communicate effectively with patients and carers to provide appropriate information.
5. Promote positive relationships among staff involved in patient care.
6. Adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council standards.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a registered Nurse with a valid license to practice, passionate about patient rehabilitation, and encouraging independence. Flexibility to work across all shifts, including nights and weekends, is essential. You should also be confident with IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
