Job summary

The Royal Berkshire Endoscopy Unit in Reading is seeking a dynamic nurse to support high quality, patient-focused endoscopy services. You will assist in endoscopy procedures, contribute to a busy acute setting, and participate in ongoing development and training opportunities within a modern unit open Mon-Sat 08:00–18:30.

Job description

The Royal Berkshire Endoscopy Unit is committed to delivering high quality patient-focused service, is a well-equipped and modern department which specializes in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients attending as day cases, in-patients and emergencies. We undertake the Bowel cancer Screening Programme as part of the National Screening Programme. Following induction you will have the opportunity to undertake a number of specific endoscopy courses in line with your ongoing development programme. We are a very busy, expanding unit and are looking for some reliable and flexible staff. The unit is open Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:30., Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details of the job role.

An opportunity has arisen for dynamic individuals willing to learn some highly skilled endoscopy techniques and actively assist in providing quality care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. We are seeking an enthusiastic highly motivated nurse ideally with appropriate experience in an acute setting, with a commitment to team working and a keen interest in continuous improvement. Experience in an endoscopy setting or gastro ward would be an advantage, but full training will be given.,

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
• At least 6 months' experience in a acute set up, Endoscopy training and/or JETS competencies
• Communication skills/training course, Appropriate experience within an acute clinical ward or area.
• Previous Endoscopy experience
