Job Introduction

As a band 5 school nurse, you’ll be part of our valued school nurse team based out of Greenways hub in Chippenham, working in Chippenham and surrounding areas. This post will be an all year round, fixed term position for 12 months starting from September 2025.

Main Responsibilities
  • Understanding the concept of Clinical Governance and being skilled in the identification, assessment, and protection of vulnerable children and families.
  • Supporting the school nurse community service as part of the skill-mixed public health team.
  • Contributing to the development of the School nursing service in the locality through liaison with and support from the Specialist School Nurse, and implementing innovative practices to meet health needs.
  • Ensuring a child-centered service is delivered through active engagement with young people in planning and delivery.
  • Working across organizational boundaries to identify population health needs, in line with organizational policies and priorities, and leading delegated work from the Specialist School Nurse using nursing leadership skills.
  • Collaborating with key partners to address public health needs, advocating for children, young people, families, and the school health service.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with an interest or experience working with children and young people in the community. You should be passionate about teamwork and supporting the organization in delivering our services.

Possess a full driving license and be prepared to work within HCRG Care Group’s values and standards of care, thinking, and doing.
