Job summary

Athona Nursing is currently recruiting for a Band 5 Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join the Theatre Department at NHS Trust in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ODP seeking a block booking with a mixture of shifts in a hospital theatre environment.

Immediate availability required. Start subject to compliance and confirmation of booking details.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
• Relevant experience within a theatre setting.
• Flexibility to work a mixture of shifts.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
• Support the theatre team during surgical procedures.
• Assist with anaesthetic, surgical and recovery duties in line with your competencies and experience.
• Maintain patient safety and follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective theatre operations.

Pay Rate (PAYE): £17.00 basic per hour; and holiday pay
